In CofD, Bacchus is a Free Council Mastigos whose cabalmate initiated them as a Whipping Boy. They were drained to death by a vampire friend in a fit of passion, and were resurrected as half a corpse. They run a hedonistic cult that's a revival of the ancient Bacchanalia, but they were originally part of the Bloody Cup, who focus on sensation (and cannibalism, for morale).
